On Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012 our own CEO Gary Chiappetta, with Steve Jones, CEO of Fair Oaks Farms Brands, Inc. will be speaking at this year’s Brand Packaging: Packaging That Sells Conference in Chicago, IL. Brand Packaging follows a mission to elevate the packaging discipline in brand marketing. They are the leading source of strategic packaging inspiration for consumer goods marketers – from industry leaders like Procter & Gamble and The Coca-Cola Company to attention-grabbing independents. The speaking engagement, which kicks of at 2:00 pm on Tuesday will address how to use Iterative Design Thinking to build successful brands.

Here’s a preview of what you can expect to learn from Gary and Steve.

Process Agnostic is our working term at Kaleidoscope for the practice of iterative design thinking, harnessing the rational and irrational and releasing oneself from the fear of failure. Multiple “action-feedback-reaction” touch points between brand owner (client) and brand innovator (design partner) provide deep brand exploration and breakthrough creative that aligns business vision and brand strategy, ultimately crafting the next billion dollar brand. The idea is to restrict resources (time and money) and rely on rapid thinking (and mistakes) with the intent of becoming deeply informed and getting ideas on paper. Think fast, work fast, get feedback from all stakeholders and do it again. This is not about organized chaos. Rather, it’s about allowing for failure. It involves Rapid Ideation, Iterative Design Thinking, quick prototyping and rapid feedback. Allow for Co-Creation, and let ideas evolve. Lead it, don’t manage it.

If you’re attending the conference, be sure to swing by and say hello to Gary and Steve – they’d love to see you! If you can’t make the conference but want to stay up-to-date with what’s happening, follow along on Twitter using the hashtag #PTS12. Are any of our friends planning on attending?
